Thanks, Charles. Yeah, I think you can find yourself frustrated and then in the next moment surprised by something glorious. This one, to me, isn’t on the scale of “Tree of Life,” but if you saw “Thin Red Line” or his other earlier movies, you know they’re different. Some like ‘em, others don’t.

Thanks for the review – this sounds like one I would want to see and your review might help me to prepare myself beforehand. Your opening remarks also remind me that I need to see Tree of Life. I have a couple of friends who loved it, and a couple who found it a waste of time, but your comments make my friends’ disparate encounters understandable. Now I have two movies to put on my list to see.

Well Preacherman your losses are piling up this year. So sorry for you loss of another dear friend. I can feel the love and respect you feel for Charlie in the words you wrote. Funny, how he can even touch me through your words. I’m glad you knew him and loved him and I’m glad you shared his story.

That’s what I heard, Elizabeth. I found critics crushing at the front end of ministry, annoying later, and more and more objects of thanksgiving of late. Being challenged is not the worst in the world, even though admiration feels SO good! Hang tough and do what you are called to do. The church will go on, as we know. And you haven’t left it! Blessings in the new time and especially with the call to write. Do it with all your might. Let’s say hello if we’re ever in the same town at the same time.
